This Week's Randomnity

*I'm ready for spring. I think I hit January 1, and I immediately become allergic to cold and winter. I'm ready to go outside without my coat on, and I want to smell the lilacs and see the daffodils along the roadside. Old Man Winter, hear me: You're on notice. Spring may be a capricious child, but she is on her way, and the warmth of her youth will banish you for another year. Just watch!

*Yes, I have changed my blog template again. Sorry. I don't mean to keep confusing you people. This was, however, an idea that I'd been working on with the last template, and I finally figured out how to get here. *sigh* The wonders of html.

*This week, I've gotten through some serious filing at work, and I'm planning to get through more before Friday. Though, yesterday sure felt like Friday! I needed it to be Friday yesterday.

*Last night, I watched my first two episodes of "Jeeves and Wooster." I loved it! The humor doesn't offer the typical American in-your-face-you-must-laugh-now innuendo, but rather gives a more humorous laid back approach that leaves you with lines you can actually quote. Not that I remember any lines well enough to quote them...

*Pete bought me a lovely bouquet tulips yesterday. Which brings me back to "I WANT SPRING!"

*I may be a photographer--but my self-portraiture seriously needs work. I'd sure enjoy having somebody to take MY picture once in a while! I am due for a new one! Any volunteers?

*Random movie of the week: "Cold Comfort Farm"

Good grief--YOU'RE the one who's done it! All we've had down here is spring, Spring, SPRING! Dash it, can't some Winter-lovers get some winter around here? Hampton Roads can expect 70's for the weekend, all our normal Winter weather being absconded with by some family living at *papers shuffle* Stonemeadow Lane. And in other news, the government has been declared irrelevant... I rest my case. :-P

btw, my telescopic lense 1) can't properly focus that far, and 2) has issues with taking pictures beyond the line-of-sight/curvature of the earth. Otherwise I'd be your photography man. ;-)

I just have one thing to say:
I saw something nasty in the woodshed!

um, darken the print slightly so the font is easier to read. But otherwise it looks great.
I agree with Joseph. When there was snow around Thanksgiving I thought "YEAH!!!!! WOW, with a record-braking early snow, this will be a wonderful winter." It's almost gone, and I'm still waiting for winter to really come.
the arrival of spring means the arrival of birds (YIKES!) and the leaving of cozy fires and the romantic smell of smoke mixed in cold, crisp midnight air.

Ahem. Thank you, springtime spoilsports. I hope you're enjoying your cold.

I humbly beg your pardon, but we're not 'springtime spoilsports' but rather 'wintertime existential enthusiasts.' If this were after, say, March 22 then I'd be a springtime spoilsport, but since were still supposed to be in winter, then I'm simply calling for a proper enjoyment of the season at hand. Everything in its season... :-) And yes, the cold we've had I have enjoyed. ;-)

Again, I agree. If this was well into March or April and it was still bitterly cold, then we'd all be longing for spring. It started to snow just around Thanksgiving and was so crisp during Dec. They said this was to be a real winter, and so far it is falling short of that in Jan. But, they say the snow is coming in Feb :D, yeah!
come on, when spring comes, all the warm cozy quilts go back on the rack or folded up at the foot of the bed, the candles and fires are hardly ever lit, . . and come on SNOW IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!
