Spring Fever

Friday, March 10, 2006

Some people will remember my petulant post about spring. Well, it's here now, in full force. It's cold, cold, cold, and then all of a sudden, BOOM--spring explodes. I like it when that happens. Sometimes, spring just sneaks up on you, and you realize that it's here too late to notice that it's been coming all along, and sometimes, it just appears one day, and you get to watch it from the very beginning!

All of that to say, it's an absolutely gorgeous day, and I'm really enjoying the springtime weather we're having. It will be perfect for my two weekend photo shoots, and it's perfect for my mood today!

There.

I posted.

I'm in a bit of a conundrum: I tend toward natural optimism and encouragement and yet I have within my being an element of realism and cold logic.
I'm rejoicing with you over the wonderfully mild temperatures and the blossoms scattered hither and yon...and yet, looking over this year's fluky track-record I feel a touch of sckepticism. Will it last or are the colder temperatures on the rebound?
The question comes down to this: does one live as an existentialist who lives for the moment; as a skeptic who doubts the goodness of anything; or as a traveler who takes joy in the journey?
Seems to me like you've got a pretty good answer...;-)

My poor brain can't handle the heavy philosophy in my non-air-conditioned office...

And we remember that summer is coming too...

*smile* we've just remembered that winter is a season out here. Its been raining and snowing on and off all day. I like the new picture :-)

Kelly, I love the title picture - the bridge with the fog. Is that one you took? Or did you snag it from another site? Very dreamy.

Heavy philosophy? Naw, it was just a bit of rambling--and I like the pictures too. ;-)

Came from another site. I just did a google search. *grin* Wish I'd taken it, though! :-P

Kelly,

Derek Langley is one of my all time favorite photographers! Glad to know that others are finding out about his work too!!!

Yes, it is great weather now. Saddly, however, we didn't have a proper winter. Now it's getting too late in the season for any chance of one this year. The flowers are starting to bloom, which often brings more color to the spirit then the Earth. The green is slowly peeking out of their winter beds, about to blanket the various shades of brown which have become painfully dull this winter.

unfortunatly, it is still a pit crisp for my skating outfits/skirts; so my photo opt will need to wait. Also, I need a little more time to regain some skills. After getting hurt last summer during a move, I've been slowly working up my courage to pull it off again. This last weekend (I'M SO PROUD of myself! *grin*) I grabbed the boot behind my back, but am still nervous about pulling my foot up all the way behind my head. Pray for me, and my safty *wink*, as I got "back on the horse". :)
