The Lord Reigns

The Lord reigns;
Let the earth rejoice;
Let the multitude of isles be glad!

Clouds and darkness surround Him;
Righteousness and justice are the foundatino of His throne.
A fire goes before Him,
And burns up His enemies round about.
His lightnings light the world;
The earth sees and trembles,
The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
The heavens declare His righteousness,
And all the peoples see His glory.

~Psalm 97~

THAT was what I needed this morning.

I woke up early, intending to go outside to have my Bible time this morning, and decided to shower first. Problem was, when I got out of the shower, I couldn't figure out what to wear. My hair wouldn't work. I couldn't pick a color or an outfit. So I locked myself in my room until it was time to go, and emptied most of my closet trying to figure something out.

I finally decided on something to wear and came out of my room, and there was Pete, who had been waiting for me. The idiocy of the 45 minutes I spent doing that hit me. I felt so dumb. *sigh* I HATE it when that happens. It's just embarrassing. I'm not one who likes to spend a lot of time in front of the mirror. So I beat myself up most of the way to work, with Pete contending that I wasn't an idiot, and it was a beautiful day (which it is, by the way. Absolutely gorgeous!)

So we get to work, and Pete starts having another bad day. I'm sick to death of Satan hitting him with stuff. I wish he wasn't so tired, and that he didn't get reamed by his boss on such a regular basis for his concentration errors due to his lack of sleep. So I was worried about him, and then I started thinking about Psalm 97.

You know, no matter what falls out or goes down in our lives, God is still God. He is still on the throne, He still reigns in Heaven. There is nothing we can do to take Him off that throne. It's on days like this, where I don't even know which end is up, that I to know that He is sovereign and over all the earth. Things can't get too badly out of control when He's still God. Which basically means that the entire world could blow up, but as long as He's still on the throne, that's not a huge issue. *grin*

In other news, both of my bosses are out of the office today, which means that I need to get to work and be responsible. I have lots to do!

Oh, and I'm learning to acknowledge God in all my ways again. "Learning" being the key word there.

One last thought: What does it mean to be meek?
