One Year

Friday, October 6, 2006

My post titles are becoming unimaginitive of late, but this one should suffice for my purposes.

On Monday, October 9, 2006, I will have been married for one year. How do I describe that year? The constant adjusting and readjusting and remembering who I am and discovering who I am and learning about Pete and feeling like a failure and riding on the heights of victory and weeping and laughing and being scared of being pregnant and disappointed to not be pregnant and sharing and silence and questions and very few answers...

I don't imagine I have ever done anything so great as being married. But I think I may be only beginning to see this.

God, I couldn't imagine not being married to Pete. Thank You for a year of struggle and triumph and fear and victory and lots of reality. Thank You for being in control of our crazy lives. Thank You for the faith You gave us to step out on You and try this thing.

For the record, I hope we have a lot more time to learn. We've got a long way to go. And besides. It's been the most plain fun I've ever had in my life.

Happy Anniversary! May the blessings of the past year multiply and grow beyond your ability to comprehend in the years ahead. Y'all are an awesome couple who will no doubt continue to be a blessing in the lives of many people, and I'm privileged to call you friends. I hope to be able to wish you the best in person eventually. Keep running to the cross!
