January Sunshine

Monday, January 8, 2007

The sun just came out.

This is a good thing. When I woke up this morning, the floodlight over the stable across the pasture behind our house was still on, it was so gloomy.

Granted, we haven't had much of a winter. And normally, I like cloudy days. But ever since Christmas, I have just been so ready for spring, I don't want the gloom or the dark anymore. I need light. Sunshine. Breezes. Flowers! Color! Picnics and open windows!

We got them on Saturday and then they went away. Just long enough for me to get back into bed with the virus I got over Christmas. Or maybe it was the one my family had.

When the sun is out, who cares? I'm really grateful for some not-miserable weather right now. And for windows to see it with. And for being in the last week of my first trimester. And for wanting food again.

See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come... (Song of Solomon 2:11-12)

I really really like the new blog look! :-) Tulips are my favorite flower. :-) You should visit SC -- it feels like spring here.
