Blue Jeans

Thursday, August 23, 2007

So I had to stop wearing my jeans within two weeks of finding out I was pregnant last November. I borrowed a larger pair that stopped buttoning in front after about a month. I added a belly belt, but I was officially out of all jeans as of December.

Talk about tragic. When I'm not at work, I love wearing blue jeans!

So I have looked forward to wearing jeans again for about six months. Seven months. But to everyone who said I didn't gain weight, here's a news flash: I did. And none of my old jeans fit at all!

Now, I tried to be patient and wait for the pregnancy figure to go down like everyone said it was supposed to, but last week, as I realized that I'd maintained my pregnancy weight, except for Piper, I decided I'd had enough. I went out to Old Navy and picked up one pair of blue jeans that fit me (at three sizes larger than I used to wear).

One pair. I have worn them every day since I bought them.

It's a good thing we're doing laundry every other day.

don't sweat it - remember, your hip bones are displaced after delivery and can give you wider measurements for (sometimes) up to a year before settling back into place. and that has nothing to do with weight gain!

Well, that's a relief--I've also heard that some women actually gain weight while breastfeeding, so once I got past the "I'm supposed to lose all this weight right away, right?" I've been doing a lot better about it. You know, there's nothing wrong with me and all that... *wry grin* In the meantime, at least I'm proportionate, right?

They say "It takes 9 months to put it on... give yourself 9 months to get it off."

Now that you're reaching the 6 week post partum mark you probably will find the weight starts to come off as you get exercise.

Hang in there!
