Childlike

Found part of this on a friend's Facebook page today. I had to look it up. Then I had to save it. So it landed here.

Spinning, laughing, dancing to
her favorite song
A little girl with nothing wrong
Is all alone

Eyes wide open
Always hoping for the sun
And she'll sing her song to anyone
that comes along

Fragile as a leaf in autumn
Just fallin' to the ground
Without a sound

Crooked little smile on her face
Tells a tale of grace
That's all her own

Fragile as a leaf in autumn
Just fallin' to the ground
Without a sound

Spinning, laughing, dancing to her favorite song
She's a little girl with nothing wrong
And she's all alone

~Seven Years, Norah Jones

I go back and forth with favorite songs, but I always come back to this one. It describes me, in a nutshell. Well, except for the "all alone" part. :) But I love it for its simplicity and the way it captures my outlook on life. Glad you like it!

The thing I actually liked about the "all alone" part of this song is the picture it paints of the child - she's not lonely, she's happy and beautiful and fulfilled. She doesn't need anyone else to validate or fix her. She's a complete person with so much to offer.
