In the Morning

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
Toward home, a land that I've never seen
I am changing, less and less asleep
Made of different stuff than when I began
And I have sensed it all along
Fast approaching is the day

There's distraction buzzing in my head
Saying in the shadows it's easier to stay
But I've heard rumours of true reality
Whispers of a well-lit way

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

You make all things new...

~Brooke Fraser, Shadowfeet

It's the strangest feeling.

I'm in the trenches, slogging through the muck of my fears and imperfections, facing my disappointment and feelings of betrayal, wild with hope that on the other side of this, I'm really going to be found in Him.

There's no question about it. It's not as if I'm trying to decide for Him or against Him. I'm just His, and all of this stuff that is going on in my heart is not separate from Him. It's not something I have to try to hide or "get over" before I can talk with Him or have His love.

I'm not in the daylight yet, but for the first time in a long time, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm no longer in the twilight, but rather in the early hours of dawn.

And we all know that joy comes in the morning...

There's nothing quite like the feeling of sitting in the rollercoaster, hands in the air, powerless to control anything but trusting Him anyway. It's the Spirit's rush.

I pray that you have found your dawn.

(And what beautiful lyrics...)

I love that line:

I am changing, less and less asleep
Made of different stuff than when I began.
