Behind My Lens

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Two Sundays ago, during our marvelous engagement shoot with Gabe and Katie, I rediscovered the wonder of being behind the lens in the right place at the right time. I've been so bogged down in image processing for so long, I forgot how much beauty I discover behind a lens!

As the waves rise on the sand and sweep away again in the late afternoon light, I hold my breath, wishing it back, just stay a moment.

A walk in the wind with one you love. Even in the chill of the air, your heart flies, tethered yet free.

A bridge to call my own for now. Each time I cross, I have wished to capture majestic lines and blue. Now in sunset, I catch shadow too.

Up, up, into the bridge that is lovely sky.

We pass the golden gate now, suspended over one of many rivers. A memory for a new home.

They flew east with a familiar sound, away from the sun and into my lens and I discovered a new world.

Love the bridges. You capture things that I (sometimes) see, but never can get on film.

Wow, these are gorgeous. The blue so intense and the perspective awesome! I wish you were local to give me some lessons! :)

Danielle, I achieved the intense blues by adjusting the vibrance in Photoshop. Also, a note about the bridge shots: we were doing about 60mph and I was leaning out the passenger window with my camera, just shooting like crazy. These are the best of the 15 or so images I took on the approach.
