Christmas on King Street - Stolen Moments

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

This week, I am sharing photos on my blog from Saturday's King Street walk.

Have you ever tried photographing people while walking down a sidewalk? As they're walking down a sidewalk? On Alexandria's King St., I would see at least five photographers per visit, grabbing photos of the bustling crowds. In Northern VA, people just ignored it, usually choosing to leave themselves and their insecurities at home. On Charleston's King St., however, I had the only camera, and people here don't just ignore you. I think people here may enjoy a bigger world. They're not trying to shut everything out; they're just out doing something they need to do, and they bring themselves along with them.

Naked insecurities notwithstanding, I did manage a few decent shots of the humanity surrounding me.

Okay, I must admit. I love your photography. It does something for me. I dunno what, but there's just something magical in the moments you capture. =)

Wow, I love your blog's new look! Lovely, much better than my new design I threw up. I just needed something that wasn't so springish. And I love that photograph you use as your header. It's so textured!
