Day-After Christmas Creativity

Friday, December 26, 2008

I was editing up some photos from my shoot at the James Is. lighthouse yesterday and got sidetracked on Ana Guerrera's blog. I clicked into the photo to see what she had done to achieve lovely grunge effect and discovered some shared textures over at Barb Henry's Flickr. You have got to see some of what she does!

Of course, I had to try it out...

there was a path in the dune

This shot was too dark, so I brightened it up in Photoshop. As you can see, my edit already looked card-like - I just added a texture to it and got the composition below.

I'm quite pleased with this discovery. It promises lots of fun that I don't really have time for. But Pete is home this afternoon, and Piper is napping, so I played a little bit for Christmas.

Let me know what you think!

I love it =) It reminds me of a journal that I have. It's vintage, and that makes it awesome.

I really like the last picture. I've not yet tried playing with texture. I really should. You could really create some frame-able art that way. That last picture, especially, would look great printed on some cool paper and framed.
