On Christmas, We Came to the Sea

Friday, December 26, 2008

Yesterday's Christmas was not the disaster Christmas Eve seemed to be. We spent the morning eating breakfast and opening gifts. We had many more gifts than we thought we would, thanks to a few shipments that came from family! Piper had so many that she got bored!

We decided on Christmas Eve that we would spend part of Christmas searching out a lighthouse. I had some photos I wanted to get and the temperature was in the 70's. Christmas afternoon took us out to the lighthouse at James Island, where the picnic food was perfect, Piper was cute as usual, the seagulls cracked us up, and our Luke 2 reading floated on a sea breeze.

Certainly a different way to celebrate Christmas than I'm used to, but it sounds delightful! I love the dune pictures. I almost can't imagine Christmas in the context of a warm climate! :)
