Practicing Our Merry

I wonder, is Christmas Eve like a dress rehearsal for Christmas? Let's just say it is, just for the principle of the post.

If Christmas Eve is like a dress rehearsal for Christmas, we're going to have the best Christmas EVER.

Today, Piper started out the day fussing. She continued with the day fussing. I wouldn't let her watch a movie, and she fussed. We showered together and she was fussing. I let her watch a movie and she got really quiet, so I went to do my hair.

While I was doing my hair, Piper pulled down our Christmas tree and then we were both fussing and screaming. We called Pete home to help, and we left with him to get what we needed for dinner, and she fussed.

We are home now, with Pete. She is still trying to get into trouble and fussing when we won't let her. And I am fussing on my blog.

And I am practicing my laughter, because I really do need a sense of humor.

Tomorrow should be just perfect.

And if it isn't, perhaps today's practice will make it fun.

Well, as Dad says... "Practice doesn't make perfect. Practice makes habit."

May all your days be habitually practical. =)

Bah humbug to you, too.

hehehehehehehe

Aw, I'm sorry. Fussy children make for looooong days and sometimes fussy parents. We had a rather noisy child during the quiet candle-lit church service and that was a test of patience... but thankfully the other people there were mostly parents and understood.

Hopefully tomorrow will be perfect for us all.

Merry Christmas to you, Pete and Piper. May it be restful, merry and full of special memories.

I understand. My boys have been watching too many videos the past few days so I could get baking, etc. done, and it seemed like all they did was fuss or whine when they weren't watching the videos. Mine made a terrific wreck of the tree today, pulling off the pearls and throwing Christmas cards around the room while I was occupied. I've been sure they were going to pull down the tree, but haven't as of yet. However, who knows before the season is over. Hope tomorrow is less fussy for all!

LOL!!! As a parent there will be days like this. The kids who fuss and whine, or flat out disobey. Or maybe make a mistake, but the timing is all off. Yesterday morning we were already running late, and there were stacks of papers on the kitchen table from all members of the family. "J" knocked over his cup of apple juice. I did not have time to clean up the sticky sugar. The time I spent saving what papers I could meant walking him into the school building 10 mins after the bell had rung.
This is what it means to be a parent.
