growing season

Saturday, October 24, 2009

Piper was conceived in the month of October. It wasn't a terrific time for getting hold of all the fresh fruits and vegetables I needed to eat, but for the most part we did okay. Except for the cherries. I was dying for cherries. I craved them, and there were none to be found, anywhere.

Pete would tease me about it as we'd go searching through the store for them, laughing at my stubborn insistence that "there must be some, somewhere!"

"You see, there is this little thing called a growing season," he offered not-so-helpfully.

And now we're in October again, and I'm craving cherries again. And the growing season for cherries is over.

But then, my own growing season is almost over, too. We have less than eight weeks until Button's due date.

And Pete is cracking up over my cherry-craving again. Go figure.

Kelly, the dried unsulfured cherries are quite good, as is this lovely little post for a Saturday morning. And Christmas baby, maybe? Hugs.

Wow, only 8 weeks left! Seems like the time went fast, but maybe not from your perspective! ;)

oh no, Danielle - I'd be very happy to have 20 weeks left right now. Except I don't want him to have that long to keep growing... :-D
