What's In His Name?

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Her name was Bethany.

It was such a big deal that her name was Bethany. It still stands out in my mind. I get into names.

She said that God had given her that name.

She said that she had known God intimately, the way I wanted to know Him.

She said that God had taught her to surrender fully and completely.

She said a lot of things.

But she never mentioned the name of Jesus.

From a purely technical standpoint, I love how you structured this piece.

From a name-enthusiast standpoint, anchoring the story on "Bethany" and "Jesus" and "Kelly" ensures that I'll remember it for a long time.

From a fellow muddling Christian standpoint, there's two heaping handfuls of things to think about in this post.

As usual, you take the mundane and turn it into poetry. I love your point of view. Thanks for posting.
