Again, Transition

Friday, February 26, 2010

Like labor,
the pains have been coming,
squeezing, stretching, opening
one, two, five
hours and minutes apart

and we are a little nearer to
new.

Today it comes
and I am breathing through
again

this hardest part, the beginning
of change,
the first pangs, then

the new
.
I'm at twenty-some moves for my lifetime now. I've lost count and I don't have time this morning to figure it out. The Interwebs are moving first, with the phone. Then the piano. Then we hope to get the bedroom and the living room moved over so we can rest at our new house tonight.

There are some positives to having Piper prefer to sleep with us still, to having Bredon in an easily movable basket.

You all are awesome. Thank you for the comments and notes and prayers and encouragement reminding me of His love, revealing Him. How much more does my heavenly Father care for me than for the sparrows?

I don't know. But I think it is my time to learn.

We're moving today. We are almost through.

I'll be back when I can.

Praying your move goes smoothly! I hate moving. HATE it. But I pray that yours will be a blessing.

Oh Kelly, I can relate so much to this post. I am sending prayers from here too--as I sit amid a brown flurry of boxes standing tall in the living room, waiting to be unpacked and settled--yet again.

Blessings.

Praying for you too. I had no idea you didn't have help for the move! We're only three hours away and we love seeing you.

Ugh... moving is a real pain (and that's putting it lightly) as is how crazy busy life is. I know how you feel re: certain aspects of this craziness. For the last 4.5 years of my life my husband has had 12-14 hour commute/work days. Oh for the life when we both got to sleep in and not leave for work until 8am and were home by 6pm! LOL Those are long gone.

I can only imagine what it's like to juggle two children, a move and a photography business, but I do understand the craziness on my level working nearly 40 hours a week at home and juggling a toddler, the household chores and day-to-day musts. It's a lot.

My prayer every morning, first upon my lips is always "Lord, please help me today!" May He help you today too.

With my house moves estimated somewhere in the late 30s, I have lots of sympathy for you. I hope all goes well!

I loved the poem.

Having moved more times than I'd like to count, I feel for you Kelly.
Hang in there - you'll be home, unpacked and settled, before you know it! :)

I, too, have moved more times than I care to admit. I'm praying all goes smoothly, and that you carry "home" in your heart as you go. Be blessed!

Thinking of you sweet Kelly.
You will be okay.
You will.

I hope you find the blurry lines of movement with your sweet camera. Or maybe the fatigue. The sorrow. Perhaps an unexpected curiosity. I do love the ambiguity of this present photo.

I sent our submission off, btw. Seems apt... the question of going beyond the gate or not...

Like you said, just breathe. Sometimes it's all that's needed. Just breathe. The mess will be there until the last article leaves the old. I'm very familiar with the birth of change. Moving has also been a regular event for us. Wish I could be there to help. Knowing this agony well, I would've love to help you in it. Breathe. Step. Breathe. You're get to the other side before you know it.

Loved the poem, the idea of breathing through it. Hang in there. (And I just have to say that I know this feeling, having sold a house, bought a house and moved a day's drive away with a 2 (to 5) month old and a 2 year old. It was so draining, but it wasn't forever.)
