As Time Allows

Bredon is here. He is four days old. He looked at me clear-eyed this morning as I was talking to him and he smiled at me. Twice.
I am so in love.
My husband is amazing. You'd have to see to understand. There are no words. We wrapped gifts this afternoon. He is off to the post office to mail the stuff.
Piper has grown up overnight. I hold her, and she is huge compared to her brother, but her heart is the same. She is just talking more. I cry more when I am with her.
I remember her small when I hold Bredon; something in my hands knows he is not so tiny as she was. I don't feel so helpless.
We are living now, resting, eating, learning our life all over - winding down two hours earlier than before, getting to bed two hours later before we wake again. I know time passes; the sun rises and sets and brings us closer to dates we've marked on the calendar. I wait for my heart to wake, putting things away as buried treasure, accepting the moments I own. I have enough for today.
I have so much...

Beautiful, beautiful boy.
Rest now in this love-cocoon. Such a precious time.
Oh, thank you for a beautiful post. Thank you for taking the time to share.
I am smiling and holding a tear of rememberance...My oldest is 16 now!
Enjoy your blessings, smell your baby a lot...
I'm stifling the tears right now... so beautiful! Cherish it all (I know you will!). It's amazing how much faster it can all go with the second.
He's so beautiful Kel...soak up every second...congrats again!
Lots of love...

Been thinking about you! Glad you're enjoying this special family time!
What a beautiful, sweet time this is. Keep soaking it in.
Precious baby boy and big sister ... holding love.
Thank you for sharing these moments in photos.
Piper looks so proud and delighted. She'll charm Bredon, no doubt. Such lullabyes they both are.
Such magic surrounds you.
ahhh, husbands. they are quite amazing at the birth of their children, aren't they. it's beautiful.
Precious first days.
Have a blessed Christmas!
Love this. Love you. Love these beautiful glimpses with words and images into your new reality. He is beautiful. Piper looks like such a wonderful big sis. Wish I could bring you a warm meal and sit in awe with you over what God has given. Instead I will just have to send a hug across the miles...
::Sigh:: It's amazing how those new eyes make all the days leading up to their arrival all worth it. What a gift from the Lord.
We're totally relating with you on the the whole first child growing up overnight thing and "learning our life all over". Jadyn was three-weeks old yesterday and I still don't have a clue as to what I'm doing or what life will look like. ;-) Good thing the holidays are here as a distraction. :-)
Love you!
Kelly!
I'm late in offering my congratulations to you on the birth of Bredon.
My heart swells with joy for you and your sweet family.
I send you my love.
Congratulations! he is so very beautiful. those first few weeks are the most precious. enjoy them.
My TJ older one also grew up all of a sudden. It is precious to see your four day old. His eyes are so clear and already tuned into his mommy. Precious. May God grant you as much rest and sleep as possible!!
Congratulations, Kelly - he's such a cutie. I feel the same way about my toddler, he's having such a hard time adjusting, and I cried a whole lot when he would cry for me the first couple days I was home...but I'm doing better emotionally right now - praying God gives you strength to minister to both of your kids each day.
